About Me

Growing up, my family's piano was almost constantly being played. My mother has run a piano studio in her home for as long as I can remember and I began learning the piano as one of her students. From there, I developed a love of music and wanted to teach my own students. When I was a teenager, I became an instructor at my mother's studio, taking on some students that she didn't have room for. I have been teaching ever since and have now been a teacher for 15 years.
I have a love for music and piano in general and I consider myself a bit of a music nerd. In middle school, I became a student at the University of Utah's Preparatory Division where I studied music theory and musicianship. In high school, I studied with Dr. Richard Anderson. Later, in college I attended the University of Utah as a piano performance major under Professor Lenora Brown with studies focused on music theory, pedagogy and performance. During my time there, I taught piano in their Preparatory Division as well as their volunteer outreach program in Salt Lake City elementary schools
I teach piano because I really enjoy it. Seeing the growth and learning process that my students go through is very rewarding and I am very invested in their success. Music is one of the greatest blessings that I have had in my life and I want to be able to pass that on to others.
